WSOP on Mobile Phones?

2006 could see the launch of new and interesting WSOP branded mobile poker gaming subsequent a new deal between U.S. mobile amusement company Glu Mobile and Harrahs, the owner of the World Series of Poker brand/contest (WSOP). The mobile poker contract is believed to contain a range of WSOP-branded mobile products that includes games and graphics and ring tones and other services, all planned for roll-out over the coming year.

"Harrah's and the World Series of Poker are two of the major brands in the amusement business," said Greg Ballard, president and CEO of Glu Mobile in announcing the agreement last week. "The ever growing status of poker and the emerging shopper excitement of multiplayer mobile games merge to make this a timely and powerful alliance."

This isn't the first moment that Harrah's has agreed to the use of the WSOP brand. The agreement with Glu Mobile is one of the many key licensing deals Harrah's has signed in the 2005. In 2005, Harrah's entered partnerships with America Online of which are now using the WSOP brand name for online poker gaming and console gaming, respectively.
